How to sew your own Technically Homeless MOOP Pouch!  I like having some physical representation of the work I officially release, but I’m not cool with all the plastic and fossil fuel energy involved in the production and distribution. I figure, I’ve done handmade cardboard album cases (www.songsfromavan.com), the glass mirror cases (www.musicforsmartpeople.com) were great in that they’re functional, yet heavy and fragile, so now, in continuation along the FUNCTIONAL path, the new cases are all SUSTAINABLE, and PRACTICAL.  

These cases are made of recycled fabric, most of it found (and washed), sewn by me or at least having my hand directly involved somewhere in the process, with the help of friends.

My intention for these cases is for them to be utilized as M.O.O.P. pouches.  ”M.O.O.P.” stands for Matter Out Of Place - - aka litter, but it also accounts for non-native organic material.  The more proactive everyone is in reducing the eyesore of litter about, and the more people are seen being proactive about it, the more people will will feel compelled to keep their areas clean.  Like the ‘broken window’ theory (look it up).

Me mailing these cases out to people ALSO contributes to pollution, as it invariably takes airplanes and delivery trucks to get them to those who are far away.  That means fossil fuels.  There is no physical CD (plastic).  When the case is purchased from me directly it includes a recycled CARDBOARD CD with a code to retrieve the songs in their digital format from the www.technicallyhomeless.com website, a package of seeds to plant (Crimson & Clover), and about 5 feet of hemp rope to use for fastening the pouch to your person.  So, $5 extra over the no-case, no cardboard cd, no seeds, and no hemp rope, and I’ll send you one I made that includes that.  Recycled cloth, cardboard, seeds, and rope.  You can do better.  Save yourself $5 buy purchasing the digital files and get the satisfaction of making the pouch yourself, going to the gardening store yourself, and grabbing a shoelace from a dead pair of shoes.  You know, D.I.Y.
